The inauguration of the new exhibition organized by the Associazione Culturale Bianca Pilat which will host Corrado Bonomi and Gianni Cella will be held on Saturday 7 May 2022 at 6 pm.
The cardboards of Corrado Bonomi and the trinkets of Gianni Cella seem to come from two parallel worlds, but to unite them we find the interest in the material, the research on the support and an ironic and playful approach to reality.
Bonomi is present with some specimens of the “Fragile” cycle, started in 1988 during the first years of activity. In 1983 he held his first exhibition in Milan and here he met Narciso Bonato. This exhibition features some of the artist’s first experiments, including these cardboards. Bonato buys most of the works presented on that occasion and on his death the corpus of works is destined for the heirs, with whom Bonomi comes into contact in a totally fortuitous way at the end of 2021.
The collection was rediscovered in a garage in Settimo Milanese, where more than sixty works were kept, including jute canvases, installations from the “Totem” cycle, paintings on plastic supports and more. All works believed to have been lost, dating back to the late 1980s and early 1990s, capable of bringing out the first decade of Bonomi’s research dedicated to the Tautologies: clicca qui per le immagini.
On the occasion of the exhibition, the catalog Una vita lemme lemme will be presented, with a text by Toti Carpentieri, an unpublished double interview by Barbara Cottavoz and shots by Mario Finotti of the two artists.
The space will be open to visitors until 30 June 2022 from 4 to 7 pm by appointment.
