Friday October 5th, 2007 at 19 Boccanera Contemporary Art opens the exhibition of Corrado Bonomi and Ueia Lolta which will run until 9 December 2007. The exhibition event entitled -Incantesimi- and will present paintings, photographs, sculptures and new installations. Two generations side by side with the common intention of making the game and the universe of children an instrument of reversal, in an interpretative key, of contemporary life. Playful elements mixed in a new way, creating universes where everything is possible and where spells become palpable results. Their are small magic, perhaps minimal in a world that has made paradox and nonsense its own flag.
The two start from perceptions to which we are no longer accustomed, those of children who make play their expressive and communicative weapon. Corrado Bonomi, born in 1956, does not give certainties: his sculptures start from objects, all taken from the reality that surrounds us, they tell stories that apparently seem naive because they are simple to be enjoyed, but which hide subtle conceptual plots that they reverse their original sense with pungent irony. Ueia Lolta, from 1981, under a pseudonym, generates microcosms populated and filled with a thousand wonders. Place puppets, cute monsters, self-portraits, freehand drawings with a childish flavor and therefore incisive in their message.
The characters roam urban and natural contexts with acid colors, in a psychedelic whirlwind that can even occupy the exhibition spaces with unprecedented sculptures. An exhibition in which the spells of Bonomi and Ueia Lolta will also come to life thanks to an ideal garden made of creepers, potted plants and cacti, where everything seems to be what it is not, in a game where the possible goes hand in hand with the impossible. The artists will be present at the inauguration. Catalog available. Corrado Bonomi was born in Novara in 1956 where he lives and works. The first exhibition dates back to 1982.
