The Amici Arte Contemporanea Association, to which Corrado Bonomi also adheres, was born from an idea born at the beginning of the 2000s by Gemma de Angelis Testa who in 2003 decided to involve a group of collectors and art lovers in Milan, united from the idea that it is also the duty of collectors to support artists, as happens in other countries. The objectives that the association has set itself since its inception are to encourage the creation of a contemporary art museum by the institutions, to stimulate dialogue between public and private sectors, to support young Italian artists through various types of awards and exhibitions, such as the Invito exhibition, which takes place during the Miart fair in Milan. A very important milestone was reached in 2015, when ACACIA donated its entire collection to the Museo del Novecento in Milan pending the construction of the contemporary art museum. Since 2015, the Museo del Novecento has hosted the Invito exhibition on the occasion of the Miart fair and within it the works of the ACACIA Collection are exhibited in rotation in a dedicated space.
