FRAGILITY BLOSSOMS INTO AN EXTRAORDINARY ART COLLECTION
“Children with disabilities or autism are like flowers: fragile and delicate, they need care, assistance, love”. Thinking of them, 43 works of art by great artists, designers, architects and stylists were born, in a unique exhibition of its kind in support of the projects of the Fondazione Sacra Famiglia.
Among these also Corrado Bonomi with his ten flower pots made with irrigation pipes and plastic. As Ivan Quaroni wrote in 2007: ” Bonomi transfigures the care and maintenance tools of gardens into specimens of an everlasting flora, resistant to bad weather and not perishable. In doing so, it favors the impression of a continuity of meaning between the original function of the materials and their new ornamental destination, which has not only ironic but also ethical implications”.
The 43 works will remain on display at the Siamo Fiori exhibition to be held at the Pinacoteca di Brera – Atrio dei Gesuiti – from 21 to 31 October 2021.
The exhibition is curated by Alessandro Guerriero and Alessandra Zucchi with the contribution of the Tam Tam Association and realized with the contribution of the Mediolanum Onlus Foundation and the Vittorio Polli Foundation and Anna Maria Stoppani MMIX.
The works will be at the center of a charity lottery with the aim of raising funds to support educational and qualifying courses aimed at children and minors with disabilities or autism welcomed into the Foundation.
