Galleria Bonelli Arte Contemporanea, Via Corrado 34 - Mantova
by Edoardo Di Mauro
At the Bonelli Arte Contemporanea Gallery, 30 sculptures document the entire creative path of the Novara artist. From 5 March to 10 April, Corrado Bonomi's solo show entitled ARTI E MESTIERI will present the Bonelli Gallery of Mantua, presenting thirty works by the artist from Novara, following a path that documents his entire creative journey. As Maurizio Sciaccaluga writes in the introductory text of the catalog "the whole corpus of opera signed by Bonomi - from flowers rebuilt using gardening tools to porn posters populated by Disney characters, from New Arrivals to Fatal Fairies, from three-dimensional Arcimboldi to globes of worker power, just to give some examples - it is marked by a kind of affectionate cynicism, by a subdued and caustic anger that, punctually, manages to transform itself into a disrespectful wit, into a revolutionary calembour, in satire ( without forgetting, of course, the formal and reflective aspect of creation) ".
The exhibition path will therefore offer the opportunity to get closer to the artistic world of Bonomi passing through the sensual fairies playing golf, the Tinkerbell trapped in the lamps of some Captain Hook, the New Arrivals with the whales laden with immigrants, the honey of acacia that favors the understanding of contemporary art, in a continuous reference between reality and fiction. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog published by Publi Paolini with a text by Maurizio Scaccialuga and an interview with Bonomi by Paola Artoni.
